1. Mini story ideas

1.1. A teenage girl and a father fighting over the radio station, each changing the music one after the other. Then instead the father turns the air con on and it blows heavily on her.

1.2. A family in a car. Two little kids singing loudly in the back and two parents arguing over directions in the front. The mother shouts at the children to be quiet. the car falls into silence. A noisy toy is heard.

1.3. An elderly couple travel in silence. After a while the old lady pulls a Tupperware box out of her bag filled with home made sandwiches and offers one to the man. They eat happily in silence.

1.4. Perhaps some people on the way back from a funeral/football game/ parents evening?

1.5. Maybe backpackers catching a lift?

3. Intention

3.1. The stories should vary in tone, some upbeat and some more serious, for example a family going to a funeral. However, there should be definite moments of light comedy so that the narrative seems uplifting and the audience create a fond relationship with the charcaters. Therefore, when the crash happens the tone dramatically changes and causes the audience to reflect.

3.1.1. Project specifications

3.1.2. End User requirements

3.1.3. Action points sign-off

3.2. As there are lots of different characters and no soul protagonist's, unconventional of a short film and therefore risky, each character must be heavily developed and stylised so that the audience can quickly associate themselves with the character.

3.2.1. Define actions as necessary

4. The plot

4.1. We see a series of short stories, every day scenarios that may take place in a car. We therefore meet many different every day characters that the audience should be able to relate to. We transition from car to car through some form of match cut so that the editing should be invisible and interesting cinematography opportunities are left open. We then see the external of two cars crashing with no idea of who was in them. The audience should mourn every character and they should realise that every car has a story.
