Chapter 5: Quadratic Equations and Functions
by Anthony Antinucci
1. Axis of Symmetry- a line that divides a parabola into to mirror images.
2. Vertex of a parabola- is the point at which the parabola intersects the axis of symmetry
3. Factoring- rewriting an expression as the product of its factors.
4. Greatest Common Factor (GCF)- common factor with the greatest coefficient and the greatest exponent.
5. Parabola- Graph of a quadratic function.
6. Standard From of a Quadratic Function- f(x)=ax^2 + bx + c
7. Graph a function using these forms- y=ax^2 + c , y=ax^2 + bx + c
8. Vertex form of a quadratic function- y= a(x - h)^2 + k
