1.1. The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians was established

4.2. A system of transportation to increase levels of care was created in WWII due to a high mortality rate associated with long evacuation time during WWI

4.3. Helicopters were used during the 50's by the US Army MASH which was located close to the front lines so soldiers could be promptly evacuated improving battlefield mortality
