Integrating Technology into Physical Education by Mind Map: Integrating Technology into Physical Education

1. Why use techonology?

2. Technology allows you to find new and innovative ways to get people active. It also helps you monitor physical and mental development.

3. $$$$$$$? 'Technology' is usually associated with large price tags. However, in the ever growing world of software design, and the rapidly expanding market for mobile software, very usable programs are becoming very cheap or even free to access. I feel these apps are better than expensive hard core software because students will likely be able to use the cheap stuff throughout their lives.

4. How do I make this all work? Become your own expert. Download the software, use it on yourself.  Imagine yourself in the student's shoes and ask "would this work?" Share findings will colleagues and share ideas and experiences. Ask former students for advice on what they feel worked best for them.

5. Go with the times. This industry for technology changes rapidly. keep up to date with all new and exciting developments, research and test new products.

6. Whatever you need. The market is vast. It can be as simple as a timer or a game like app or program (Similar to the ones mentioned in the reading) or it can be more complicated. Apps like Hudl, which I use personally, can be used to assess excercise form and posture more effeicently than with the naked eye. Interactive technology (like the virtual heart) and so many others can be used to help people who are more of 'visual learners' full understand key concepts. The possibilities are seemingly endless.

7. What technology to use?
