1.1.1. Real-World: Students are given the task of finding ways to make the school more "green". Learning is integrated across content areas: science, language arts, public speaking, technology.

1.1.2. Engagement: Students collaborated with each other in an inquiry-based activity to identify possible ways to improve the school's environment.

1.1.3. Technology Integration: Students are required to collaborate in order to create a Prezi to present to the school principal. The technology is being used to solve an authentic problem.

1.2. Revised Bloom's Taxonomy Level:

1.2.1. 5.2 Evaluate: Critiquing- Students generate a list of possible ways to make the school more green and debate which option would make the most impact and be most feasible to implement.

1.2.2. 6.1 Create: Generating- Students are engaged in an authentic task. They must generate possible solutions and determine which option is best.

1.2.3. 6.2 Create: Planning- After debating the best option, students create a Prezi to present to the principal showcasing their ideas.

2. Raising the Cognitive Complexity

2.1. New Create Excellence Framework Level: Specializing

2.1.1. Real-World: Students actions will have a global impact. There plan will impact other schools in the district that choose to implement it. They will collaborate with an expert in the field, the Energy Director.

2.1.2. Engagement: Students will implement the project from the topic to the solution. They will initiate collaboration with an expert, their principal, and each other.

2.1.3. Technology Integration: Students will use several forms of technology to complete the project. They will work with an expert and find solutions to an authentic problem.

2.2. New Activities: Students will generate a list of possible ways to make the school more "green". The group will make a mindmeister.com to create a mind map of their ideas. The will look for misinterpreted information and any problems with the plan. After determining the best option to make the school more "green", the students create a Prezi to be presented to the principal for approval. The students themselves implement the plan. Students use Survey Monkey to give a pre/post assessment to students and staff in order to gage the effectiveness of the plan. Finally, the students will submit their plan and the results of its implementation to the Energy Director for the school district to be shared with other schools.

2.3.2. 6. 3 Create: Producing- The group will implement the plan they generated and presented to the principal. The students will survey staff and students to gage the effectiveness of their plan.
