Parnell Is Unable to Read

1. Scaffolding

1.1. Half-time assistant notices improvement when one-on-one work.

1.2. Parent/Guardian can request that an IPRC be created.  According to the Ministry of Education, an IPRC must be given if a parent requests.  This also goes for if a Principal suggests that one be needed

2.1. Budget Issues regarding Special reading program

2.2. Primary program depends heavily on volunteers

3. Social Concerns

3.1. Goes off task

3.2. Rarely follows instruction in proper sequence

3.3. Easily Confused

3.4. Loses personal and school property

4. Cognitive Constructivism

4.1. Did not go to school much previously

4.2. Moved to Canada Three Years Previous

4.3. Lacks former experience to base education off of.

4.4. May be unfamiliar with societal norms or language.

5. Differentiated Learning

5.1. Half-time assistant has provided assistance

5.2. she instructs Parnell one-on-one in phonics and letter/word recognition he grasp the material quickly and retains.

5.3. Teacher agrees that an IEP may be needed

5.4. Discussion whether an IPRC is needed has taken place as well.
