1. Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength UHF radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz) from fixed and mobile devices, and building personal area networks (PANs).

2. Bluetooth

3. Developed by Bluetooth Special Interest Group Industry Mobile personal area networks Compatible hardware Mobile phones, personal computers, gaming consoles Physical range Typically less than 10 m, up to 100 m

4. The IEEE standardized Bluetooth as IEEE 802.15.1, but no longer maintains the standard.

5. The protocol architecture of the bluetooth consists of following in a bluetooth protocol stack: • Core protocols consisting 5 layer protocol stack viz. radio, baseband, link manager protocol, logical link control and adaptation protocol, service discovery protocol. • Cable replacement protocol,RFCOMM • Telephony Control Protocols • Adopted protocols viz. PPP,TCP/UDP/IP,OBEX and WAE/WAP

6. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information

7. RFID

8. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is one method for Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC). RFID tags are used in many industries. An RFID tag attached to an automobile during production can be used to track its progress through the assembly line. Pharmaceuticals can be tracked through warehouses.

9. RFID tags come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes; they may be encased in a variety of materials: -Animal tracking tags, inserted beneath the skin, can be rice-sized.   -Tags can be screw-shaped to identify trees or wooden items.  -Credit-card shaped for use in access applications. -The anti-theft hard plastic tags attached to merchandise in stores are also RFID tags. -Heavy-duty 120 by 100 by 50 millimeter rectangular transponders are used to track shipping containers, or heavy machinery, trucks, and railroad cars.

10. RFID systems always comprise two components: the recording device, or reader, and the transponder.
