ACTS

1. QUARTERING:The act stated that troops could only be quartered in barracks and if there wasn't enough space in barracks then they were to be quartered in public houses and inns.

2. TOWNSHEND:The Townshend Acts were a series of acts passed – beginning in 1767 – by the Parliament of Great Britain relating to the British colonies in North America. The acts are named after Charles Townshend.

3. STAMP:Colonial opposition led to the act's repeal in 1766 and helped encourage the revolutionary movement against the British Crown.

4. SUGAR:The earlier Molasses Act of 1733, which had imposed a tax of six pence per gallon of molasses, had never been effectively collected due to colonial resistance and evasion.

5. TEA ACT :The Tea Act, passed by Parliament on May 10, 1773, granted the British East India Company Tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies.
