1. Other images- As well as the main image there are usually other, smaller images that are connected to other articles that are featured in that issue of he magazine. They are often smaller because the people that they are about are less popular and so they would draw less of the target audience.

2. Segments- The main piece of text on the contents page is the page numbers and what will be featured on that page. However, the articles can often be about very different topics and so they are split up into segments. There is usually a subtile to name the segments that is in a larger, different coloured text. This ensures that the segments can easily be found and that the audience can navigate their way around the magazine with ease.

3. Pages- The page numbers are a very important part of the contents page. this because they allow the reader to find the article that they are looking for. a page number is always next to the title of the article so that it can be found easily. Page numbers are also sometimes on the images that are on the contents page so that the article that features the people in the images can be found. The numbers are often larger or in a brighter colour so that they stand out.

4. Cover lines- Cover lines are also used in the contents page to allow the reader to get a small insight into what is in a particular article. They are positioned with the title and page number of that particle article. Cover lines are mostly the smallest pieces of text on the page because they have the most writing and so it needs to be kept small so that everything fits on the page.

5. Title- The title is usually positioned at the top of the contents page and is in the largest font that is on the page. This is to ensure that as people are flicking through the magazine they do not miss it.

6. Main Image- This image is the largest and sometimes only mage on the page. It is often connected to the main image on the front cover as that is commonly to featured artist or band and would be a selling point for the magazine. This image is usually positioned on the right hand side of the page with the main text to the left of it. It is very large and can often take up around 20% of the page.
