1. Mukae-bi (welcome fire)

1.1. Placing the lanterns at the entrance of each house to guide the spirits to their respective homes

2. “Shōryōma”

2.1. eggplant(cow) and cucumber(horse). It is said that the dead coming in horse because they want to "see" to their families as soon as possible, and when they leave they do mounted on a cow, slowly, as if lamenting having to say goodbye until next year. Another thing they say is that spirits return mounted on the horse and "gifts" the  cows

3. Okuri-bi

3.1. farewell fire, burning some yellow papers meaning "money from another world". The family dismiss the spirits wishing them a good journey mounted in cows, and money to not have problems during the return trip.

4. Gozan no Okuribi

4.1. It is the last night of Obon when the deceased who have visited us, back to his retirement in the next world. Kyoto is particularly beautiful when big fires that draw huge Japanese characters, illuminate the nearby hills.

5. Is the celebration outdoor when sound ceremonial drums and  the people gather to sing, dance and eat in honor of the dead. "Music should be cheerful to welcome the souls of ancestors and people must keep a cheerful mood."

6. Tōrō nagashi

6.1. paper lanterns are released into the water of a river to guide the spirits  to their way to another world. It takes place the first night of Obon

9. “Okuribi”

9.1. a symbolic ceremony where a Kanji forms (such as "big": 大) with bonfires on the hills to dismiss the ancestors. This ritual is one of the most popular in Kyoto.
