1. The Importance of Knowledge
1.1. Knowledge is the first revelation in Islam
1.1.1. Islam that the first revelation revealed by Allah swt to the Prophet saw is surah al-‘Alaq that deals with knowledge
1.2. Make a practice of the knowledge gained
1.2.1. (in surah al-‘Alaq), Allah swt commands us to do good deeds. The ayat is قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ – that commands us to do good deeds and forbid bad things
1.3. Knowledge as a pre-requisite for a deed to be accepted by Allah
1.3.1. Doing the deed with ikhlas (sincerity) – just to please Allah

7.1. To recognize God as Lord : the true object of worship

8.1. The Ignorants
8.1.1. Due to baseless opinions, they are unable to recognize and correct their errors.
8.2. The Plagiarist
8.2.1. They are envious and insincere because they suppress the true and right of original sources for their own benefits
8.3. The Extremist
8.3.1. Exceeding the right understanding of the purpose of knowledge.
9. 1. Muslim Philosopher: Knowledge means the picture produced about something in the mind/intellect
9.1. Example: When we picture a car, we picture the shape, the color ; this is the knowledge of the car
10. Definition of Knowledge in Islamic Perspective
10.1. 2. Ahl al-Sunnah: Knowledge is what one knows about something/ what makes one knowledgeable about something.
10.2. 3. Al- Attas : Knowledge has been understood to mean the holy Quran, laws of the syariah, faith, spiritual knowledge, wisdom, ma’rifah and others.
