1. Hosted software refers to software that is installed, hosted and accessed entirely from a remote server or location. Hosted software is hosted and managed by the software manufacturer or a third-party vendor. Users can access it globally through the Internet.
2. Bespoke software is custom or tailor-made software. The value of bespoke software over off-the-shelf software is that it can be designed specifically for key business or legislative objectives.
3. General-purpose application software is software used to perform a broad variety of tasks and is useful to nearly all computer users, such as word processing, graphics editing and spreadsheet applications.
