2. Question

2.1. Questions are sentences which seek information. They fall into three main types.

2.1.1. Exclamatory Questions

2.1.2. Rhetorical Questions

2.1.3. Tag Questions

3. Statement

3.1. Is a sentence whose primary purpose is to "state" to convey information.

3.1.1. The clause contains a subject. In informal conversation this is sometimes omitted.   For example:                                           Told you so. (instead of I told you so.

3.1.2. The subject precedes the verb. There are a few exceptions. These sentences are traditionally said to have a declarative structure.                  For example:                                                     Hardly had we left when it started to rain.
