2.1.1. Owning nuclear missiles would give Canada the ability to participate in a nuclear war.
2.1.2. It would allow Canada to intimidate other countries to prevent a war.
2.2. Against
2.2.1. Owning nuclear weapons would make Canada appear threatening to the USSR, meaning Canada would be more likely to be attacked.
2.2.2. Canada holding Nuclear weapons would give it a responsibility to act in a war.

3. Canada's Role in the Cuban Missile Crisis

3.1.1. Canada's involvement in the Cuban Missile Crisis would have intimidated Russia. Possibly stopping an attack.
3.1.2. If Canada had been involved it would have strengthened the bond between Canada and the USA.
3.1.3. The USA would be more inclined to trade with and protect Canada.
3.2. Against
3.2.1. Canada's involvement could have scared Russia into an attack causing a nuclear war.
3.2.2. Canada would have lost some of it's independence.
3.2.3. If Canada got involved it could mean the government would have to grow their army and possibly draft people against their will.
