Athletes Are Overpaid Athletes are overpaid because professions that are more important get paid less money, the most important person in our country doesn’t make as much money as most athletes, and adults get paid for doing something that kids do for free.

1. Counter Argument - Athletes make what they do look easy.
1.1. Yes, people like LeBron James make dunking look very easy, but he get’s paid “71 million dollars” to throw a leather ball into a circle (Edelman 24).
2. A2 - The most important person in our country doesn’t make as much money as most athletes.
2.1. "The President of the United States-who runs the whole country, didn't make that much. Not even close (Edelman 24)."
3. A3 - Why do adults get paid to do something that kids do for free?
3.1. "It doesn't really seem right that the thing my three-year-old nephew does for fun makes someone millions of dollars every year(Mueller)."
4. A1 - Professions that are more important than athletes get paid less money.
4.1. A1 - Athletes definitely get paid too much because they get paid way more than people like nurses and teachers that work very hard to save lives and educate people.
