### 1.1. In order to add fractions, we must have like denominators!

1.1.1. For example, we can not do: 1/2 + 1/4

1.1.2. In order to finish the problem, we can multiply to get like denominators.

1.1.2.1. Example: 1/2 + 1/4. To finish the problem, multiply both 1 and 2, times 2 to get four. (1/2 x 2/2 = 2/4 + 1/4)

1.1.2.2. Which equals 3/4, walllah we have our answer!

## 2. SUBTRACTING

### 2.1. For subtraction, we also must have like denominators.

2.1.1. For example, 1/3 - 1/6

2.1.2. In order to finish this problem, we must find like denominators.

2.1.2.1. Since they both have 6 in common, we can multiply 1/3 x 2, to get 2/6 - 1/6 = 1/6!!

## 3. DIVISION

### 3.1. To divide, we can flip fractions and multiply.

3.1.1. For example, lets say we have 1/3 divided by 1/2

3.1.2. To complete the problem, we can change the division to multiply, and flip the second fraction (so 2/1, instead of 1/2).

3.1.3. To help you remember: KEEP the first fraction, CHANGE the sign, FLIP the second fraction. KEEP CHANGE FLIP!

3.1.3.1. So our new problem is now: 1/3 x 2/1 = 2/3!!! :)

## 4. MULTIPLICATION

### 4.1. To multiply, we simply take the fraction and do as told, MULTIPLY!

4.1.1. For example, 2/4 x 2/3

4.1.2. So multiply the top, 2x2=4, then the bottom, 4x3=12

4.1.3. And we have our answer, 4/12!

4.1.4. And if you would like, we could always simplify our fraction down to 1/3
