6.1. Patriot Act

6.1.1. Extreme end of security, prioritizes safety over privacy rights. Extends to all data inside the US, and all data involving Americans around the world. Not enforceable abroad, but other countries may cooperate

6.2. IMMI (Iceland

6.2.1. Extends Icelandic privacy law to all data hosted in Iceland. Directly contradicts the Patriot Act. If the act is not illegal in Iceland, then the data won't be searched.

6.3. Laws cannot be updated quickly enough. Most recent laws solely on data are from 2004 (Iceland), other countries have been modifying existing legislation, however some legislators cannot use email, or are not tech savvy (old age being a factor, especially in the U.S.)

7. Software Patents: Oracle v. Google

7.1. When a new software is built to be inter operable, do you owe the original software writer?

7.1.1. If they release it as open source, derivative works and inter operable work is expected

7.1.2. Should they be allowed to use existing libraries/function calls? What if they just use the function name, like print scrn ( ) so users don't need to learn a new programming language

7.1.3. If my software was expanded upon and made $millions, I would be upset at having lost out on that opportunity

8. Privacy is Dead - And it's a Good Thing

8.1. Is everything posted online to be taken as true, or is a lot of "bluster" or "bragging" to fit in, or make yourself seem cool?

8.2. Is there an expectation of privacy for online content? What if they tried to anonymize it?

8.3. Rapid Societal Change due to IT

8.3.1. Oversharing of info that previous generations think of as personal

8.3.2. Utilizing online spaces as a blog or diary, venting to strangers as release
