1. numicon
1.1. numicon is a good visual method for children to use when they are first being introduced to the concept of addition and subtraxtion
2. role play
2.1. supermarket - a supermarket role platy is a good method to introduce number as children can use real money and learn about the diffrent va;lues and how they can be added to make the same amount such as using 1p,2p,5p, and 10p
2.2. home corner - the home corner can be used to promote number development becuase children can be encourage to count the knives,forks and spoons they need to make a dinner table
3. Gardening
3.1. planting seeds- planting seeds will encourage children to count in sequence and devlop their understanding about the numbers 1-5
3.2. Counting Petals- counting petals will also encourage children to develop their knowledge about the sequence of numbers
4. songs and rhymes
4.1. 1-2-3-4-5 once i caught a fish alive- this rhyme is good to teach children about the numbers 1-10 and what the sequence the numbrs come in
4.2. five little monkeys jumping on the bed- this rhyme will introduce the concept of subtraction e.g. five little monkeys jumping on the bed.... 4 little monkeys jumping on the bed
