The Definition of Technology

1. Before This Course

1.1. Before I started this Cybernation course I had a very plain and vague definition of technology. It was basically what most people would believe technology to be in our current age, those without further knowledge in it to be precise. My definition of technology used to be basically every thing electronic. This meaning anything with computerized chips or electronic batteries and screens. This is the average and typical definition everyone would have before further studying the culture of technology and what it really is.

2. Taking in the knowledge I have gathered so far in this course I have come to the realization that my definition of what I really believe technology to be is anything that was man made and has a specific use to it. Basically anything in our day an age that is useful. Not specifically things with electronic parts. I believe eve a baseball bat can be labelled as a type of technology because its man made and has a use to it.

3. After This Course

3.1. After starting this course i came to the realization that theres a lot more to technology then just computers and electronics. Through the readings given in this course prior to this discussion I read about many other definitions for example "things God himself didn't create" from Defining the Word “Technology” … Four Times http://donteatthefruit.com/2009/12/defining-the-word-%E2%80%9Ctechnology%E2%80%9D-%E2%80%A6-four-times/. With this definition one can assume that every an made item/invention even the littlest things for example a ball can be labelled as a type of technology. Technology isn't only restricted to the electronics of this generation for example laptops and smartphone. Technology can be things like hammers and screw drivers for they are tools for us to use.
