UNIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION by Mind Map: UNIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION

1. Circumference

1.1. Circumference has a lot to do with UCM because that is the length at which the object is traveling around. It also helps you solve UCM problems.

2. Does an object in UCM accelerate?

2.1. Yes it does. Even though the speed is not increasing the object in UCM does accelerate. This happens because of centripetal acceleration.

2.1.1. Centripetal acceleration always directs toward the center of the circle the object is traveling in.

3. What is uniform Circular motion?

3.1. The definition- UCM refers to the motion of an object traveling at a constant speed in a circular path.

4. How does Centripetal force affect UCM?

4.1. Uniform Circular Motion and Centripetal force go hand in hand. Centripetal force is the cause of UCM.

4.2. UCM happens because a force acts on an object and pulls it out of a straight path and into a circular path. This force is Centripetal force.
