1. Theoretical foundation

1.1. My belief is that students will learn at a quicker pace and retain a larger amount of mathematical content by engaging in computer-based learning. In addition, I feel that with a higher level of understanding and learning, student motivation will drastically increase. Because of these beliefs student success will be at a maximum.

2.5. With the information I gather I will be able to implement the research into my classroom this fall. This will determine if I begin CAI in the core subjects within the school day or eliminate CAI completely. In addition, researching the effects of CAI will guide students toward success by understanding the value it has.

3. Statement of the problem

3.1. Education today is inundated with technology, and there are so many choices it is difficult to know if students are learning or motivated by computer-assisted instruction.
