Decide by Mind Map: Decide

1. Explore The Alternatives

1.1. 1. Tell a teacher, or a trusted adult

1.2. 2. Confront the person who sent the message

1.3. 3. Leave it alone, do not do anything

2. Identify Your Values

2.1. Long Term Goal: Get the bully to stop and never do it again.

2.2. Beliefs: I believe that I should help even if I get hurt. I also believe that if their is a way to do it without it affecting me, I should weigh teh consequences and think about everyone, including myself

3. Evaluate The Results

3.1. If this decision worked out, I think it would make me more confident in myself to stand up for someone if something like this happened again

3.2. I would have learned that to think before acting and to make sure I make the right decision, especially by getting help from someone who has dealt with similar situations before

4. Define The Problem

4.1. You have been sent a photo of someone you know that portrays them in a bad situation on social media

5. Consider The Consequences

5.1. 1. Good: the adult can decide what to do, leaving me uninvolved. The adult is mature enough to make the right decision Bad: The adult might not understand what is really going on and choose the wrong decision

5.2. 2. Good: The person might stop. Bad: The person will get provoked to do it more. The person will start doing the same to me

5.3. 3. Good: The person stops Bad: The person continues. The person gets bored and does it to someone else.

6. Decide and Act

6.1. I think that telling a teacher or a trusted adult is the best option because the chance of achieving my goal is much higher, with the negative consequence being the least affective

6.2. Steps: 1. Take a screenshot

6.3. 2. Consider who the teacher might be (preferably the guidance counselor)

6.4. 3. Explain the situation and that my name should not be mentioned

6.5. 4. Post talk, ask if the situation has been solved
