D.E.C.I.D.E You borrow someone’s device (Smart Phone, Laptop etc) from a friend and accidentally break it. by Mind Map: D.E.C.I.D.E You borrow someone’s device (Smart Phone, Laptop etc) from a friend and accidentally break it.

1. 1. Define the problem: Think about the problem and how it effects you, is it important enough to use the DECIDE method and will it work well? In the scenario: Think about what you did the person's device and see how it effects you and them, how bad was it broken? Does it just need a small, simple fixing?

2. 2. Explore the alternatives: Try to see if there are other alternatives to solving the problem, and see if you can do more research for the issue. In the scenario: Are there any other easier ways to solve this? Also, start by searching up at cost to thing that you broke to get more information if you do need to end up paying for it.

3. 3. Consider the consequences: Check if the consequence has a negative or positive response. Sometimes the consequence for something will be negative, for example if you are posting something someone could end up taking a screenshot of it, which would be a negative response. In the scenario: This would have a negative result as the person who's device you broke would clearly be unhappy on what you did.

4. 4. Identify your Values: Consider your long term goals, your culture, or beliefs. If they interfere with those then maybe it isn't the best decision. In this scenario: It would probably be the wrong thing to you to lie about it and just saying something like it dropped from the shelf, you should probably be honest and take the blame for it.

5. 5. Decide and act. Once you've put all of the other steps into consideration, you have the time to act upon it. Put all of those possibilities that you have thought about, and decide a plan that would work out which follow all of those previous steps. While you are getting the message across to the other person remember to say it in a respectful way to not cause any more problems. In this scenario: One of these actions would probably include either paying the full price or part of the price for a new phone, or just the money that is needed to fix it depending on whatever happened to it in the first place.

6. 6. Evaluate the results. Look at what you did and see how it went, did it end up with a negative response? Or did it end up solving the situation? If it didn't work out, see how you can change it up in the future. And if it did, now you have a solution. In this scenario: See if this way of solution worked out for both you and that person. Was it a way that you would use again?
