2. This program of study focuses on four main components : Experience - Communication , Language , Culture and Language learning strategies. It's important to note that all components are equally important

3. Fields of Experience : The pysical, social , intellectual and leisure dimension allows for a more holistic way of learning.

7. Language Learning Strategies : Applying effective cognitive strategies when teaching language

8. Implementing Technology : Communication technology is an important part of learning language, it enables educators to show students that french can be used outside the classroom.

9. Language Competency : The four components all play role in learning French

10. Assessment : Formative and summative assessment are required when learning a language

11. Purpose: To encourage students to have a desire to develop communicative skills in French

12. Rationale : Learning French benefits students and in turn will benefit society.

14. Communication : Students will be able to express themselves in various situations

15. Language: Students will be able to communicate with knowledge of French linguistic elements

16. Culture: Students will be culturally aware, this includes their own culture and different Francophone cultures in order to interact appropriately.

17. Language Learning Strategies : Students will use strategies to enhance their learning in the French language.

19. Grade 4 Example for Experience : Student will be able to interact with people in the classroom and have knowledge of classroom supplies , furniture and shapes

20. Grade 5 Example for Language: Student will be able to name the three indefinite articles ( un, une, des ) and the four indefinite articles ( le , la , les , l' )

21. Grade 6 Example for Culture : Students will be able to identify the names and times of meals in Quebec and in France.
