1.1. Would enable the government to place tax on cannabis, potentially earning over £1 billion extra per year, which would then counteract the underfunding of the NHS (National health system)

1.2. Would henceforth save a large amount of police time along with almost halving the current prison population.

1.3. Could potentially prevent underrage purchase of cannabis

2. Political Cons

2.1. Although it would be able to prevent inderage purchasing of cannabis, it would not completely prevent black market trade and organised crime

3. Health Pros

3.1. Can lead to the ability to prescribe cannabis to those without mental capacity without risk of arrest.

3.2. Potential to cure/numb the symptoms of: depression, anxiety, alzheimer's, dementia and parkinsons.

3.3. Has been proven to kill off some cancer cells

3.4. Would be able to limit the purchase of cannabis to those only in need of it from medical conditions

3.5. Not nearly as deadly as tobacco or alcohol

4. Health Cons

4.1. If legalisation occurred it could lead to a large number of accidents when driving, particularly with cannabis users. The effects of being 'high' can lead to loss of concentration which would be critical when driving.

4.1.1. However, with the recent advancements of driverless cars this could prove to be moot

4.2. Can lead to worsening of schizophrenia symptoms

4.3. Smoking cannabis, much like smoking anything can lead to being the cause of lung cancer.
