LIGHTHOUSE OF ALEXANDRIA

1. The lighthouse is thought to be made out of limestone blocks.
2. The lighthouse was the only ancient wonder with practical purpose, to guide sailors to the port.
3. The Lighthouse of Alexandria was destroyed by the end of 1323 from three earthquakes.
3.1. The National flag of the City of Alexandria still has the symbol of a lighthouse on it.
