1.2.1.1. Students learning American Sign Language (ASL) could be applicable in William Perry's Theory between Dualism and Commitment.
1.2.1.1.1. As ASL is a language being learned the students know that the knowledge they are attaining is a single right answer given by the teacher. This is a form of Dualism
1.2.1.1.2. Students who fall under the Commitment category is because the knowledge being learned is also being applied to their personal experience of the subject at hand (pun intended).
2. Reflective Judgment Model - King & Kitcherner
2.1. 3 levels
2.1.1. Level 1 is Pre-Reflective Thinking
2.1.1.1. ASL is a language being learned and there fore would have the student fall under this level
2.1.2. Level 2 is Quasi-Reflective Thinking
2.1.3. Level 3 is Reflective Thinking
2.2. 7 stages
2.2.1. Stages 1 through 3 are in Level 1
2.2.1.1. As students at these stages view subject as completeness and in a "simple fashion" the students learning the language of ASL would take on this knowledge as direct information.

3. Compare/Contrast William Perry and RJI Theories
3.1. William Perry
3.1.1. Perry's theory is geared more towards a students attitude towards learning. Because of this, a student learning ASL would general not question teacher who is teaching them a new language unless this language is just a subject they are brushing up on or updating memory on.
3.2. RJI
3.2.1. Within this theory students would justify their knowledge of the language of ASL as simple knowledge because it is coming from an authoritative figure.
