1. Action for ES

1.1. Compile submissions on the consideration of the voluntary guidance for a sustainable wild meat sector and publish them on the CHM (para 8)

2. Actions for ES + CPW

2.1. Identify areas for complementary guidance (para 9a)

2.1.1. other: - geographical areas - species - uses

2.2. Promote and facilitate the use of monitoring tools and databases (para 9b)

2.2.1. through an exchange of: - best practices - lessons learned

2.2.2. with a view of improving information on sustainable wildlife use, including: - wild meat hunting - consumption - trade - sales - legality issues

2.3. Evaluate multidisciplinary approaches to combining better knowledge of the use of and trade in wildlife (para 9c)

2.3.1. Taking into account: - knowledge, innovations, and best practices of IPLCs - livelihoods alternatives for the customary sustainable use of wildlife

2.3.2. Possibly including: - taxonomy and ecology of the species - review and strengthening of legal frameworks - best practices for sustainable management and use of wildlife - examination of provisions of food and livelihood alternatives relating to customary sustainable use of wildlife

2.3.3. Through: - review of existing activities of the CPW

2.4. Communicate with IPBES to disseminate the assessment of sustainable use of biodiversity (para 9d)

2.4.1. Facilitate the wide dissemination of the outcomes of the assessment

2.4.2. Strengthen capacities and tools

2.5. Report to SBSTTA (para 9e)

3. Actions for Parties and other stakeholders

3.1. Use the voluntary guidance for a sustainable wild meat sector, the Plan of Action on Customary Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity and the Sustainable Development Goals (para 3)

3.1.1. when: - developing, revising and implementing governance approaches on wildlife - developing and updating national development plans and NBSAPs

3.2. Provide best practices that promote sustainable wildlife management, while contributing to poverty reduction, food security and employment generation (para 4)
