1.1.1. Upton SInclar was going to document the bad work conditions for immigrants and when we went to the packing plant he found out that the food is really gross and that they were serving it like that. so they made the FDA

2.1.1. the workers were doing a lot of work but being underpaid which stopped them from getting what they deserved.
2.2. Long Work Days
2.2.1. the workers would work excessive hours but get paid so little and they were doing hard work which they should've been getting paid more.

3.1.1. NAWSA helped get women there rights to vote since everyone is born equal. they worked on getting every state to let women vote.

4.1.1. they banned the use of alcohol the transportation of alcohol and other stuff because of insanity and violence.
4.2. Temperance Movement
4.2.1. they made this so they could fight for making alcohol banned since they thought it was the route to the evils that they were facing. they talked about how alcohol led to other immortality in society, like gambling and family destruction.

6.1.1. they bribed votes and payed people to vote for who they wanted so the person they needed for their scandals would be elected and then they'd baby back off that.

7.1. The National Child Labor Committee helped expose Child Labor and brought it to the government to get it revoked so the kids couldn't work anymore.

8.1.1. Segregation was getting enforced with this law. this meant the blacks had to do differently than the whites. they had to live there lives in poorer conditions since the white people got the good things and the blacks got the old and run down things.
8.1.1.1. Ida B Wells was a journalist that had tried to stop what was going on. she had to run to the north to escape violence and threats in the south due to her skin color.
