3.1.1. It is writing that describes a particular person, place or event in great detail that a person is able to visualize.
3.2. What does it entail?
3.2.1. It requires using lots of descriptive language and details. Furthermore, you have to connect with the reader by thinking about how to bring about the five senses as an element to your writing
3.3. How is it different from other text types (e.g. expositions, formal letters) you have learnt?
3.3.1. Formal letters and expositions are more factual and tells the reader what is happening in simple and clear words. Whereas, descriptive writing uses many descriptions of the surrounding environment to allow the reader to vividly imagine the setting and less of the storyline.

4.3.1. Descriptive writing is more detailed in descripition, hence allowing readers to effective visualize what the writer is trying to put across.

5.1. What in your opinion is descriptive writing?
5.1.1. It is a composition that focuses more on the feelings and the surroundings by using adjectives than focusing on the storyline. It is also important to use the five senses to describe a scene.
5.2. What does it entail?
5.2.1. Using more descriptive phrases and ideas to draw a picture in the readers mind.
5.2.1.1. Allows readers to relate to the issue from their personal past experiences, which in turn draws readers into the story.

5.3.1. Descriptive writing paints a picture in the readers mind, making them "see" the scene and feel themselves experiencing it live. It makes them think in the character's perspective and not as an outsiders.
5.3.1.1. The text is more of making the reader feel as if they are in the story experiencing everything that is described.

6.1.1. A description is a picture in words. Descriptive writing is mostly based on descriptions of situations or things.

6.2.1. It entices the five senses of the reader helps the reader to see, hear, taste, smell of feel something that the writer has experienced. is helps the reader to imagine and feel the same way to get the message across to the reader.

7.1.1. It is writing that describes a person, place, event or thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader's mind.
7.2. What does it entail?
7.2.1. Descriptive and emotive language can be used to elaborate and highlight to us the details of (e.g. a scene, a person, etc.)
7.2.2. Through the details that were mentioned, it paints a vivid and lasting image for the reader.
7.2.3. In descriptive writing, a good piece would often make use of figurative language, analogies, similes and metaphors, whatever it takes to print the specific image in one's mind.

7.3.1. The techniques used in descriptive writing is also used in other forms of writing (e.g. narrative, expository) but the main focus is different. In descriptive writing, you hope to create a lasting impression of something. However, when it comes to narratives, the main focus would be to develop the story. Hence, in such cases, descriptive language is not used as much.

8.2.1. It involves more focus on the surrounding environment. Other text types like narratives focus on the story line while expositions and formal letters focus on the content.

9.1.1. Descriptive writing is an essay that paints a picture in the reader's mind, like a picture in words.
9.2. What does it entail?
9.2.1. To use vivid detail to describe a particular moment, object, event, place etc.
9.2.2. Referencing to the five senses to create more sensory description, creating imagery thus drawing the readers more into the essay and evoking certain emotions in them.

9.2.3.1. Using descriptive words and phrases such as adjectives and adverbs. Focusing on the five senses and your feelings to evoke emotion
9.2.3.1.1. It should create vivid and original imagery and "show" the reader not "tell", using similes and metaphors
9.2.4. To place the reader and yourself as you are writing the essay in the midst of all the action. This meaning, you actually feel like you are experiencing the scenario firsthand rather than a spectator by the sidelines.

9.3.1. Descriptive writing focuses more on visualization of the scenario and less of a storyline. It does not involve a main climax like a narrative, nor is it very factual like exposition.
9.3.2. It plays pictures in the mind to create the scene inside the reader's mind and make them feel as if they are experiencing the scene firsthand. It focuses on vivid imagery of the place/event more than any other text types.
