3. A) The concept of Discovery is a BIG IDEA that seems to be "everything and nothing", but it can be described by reference to just FOUR SIMPLE dimensions. Whether you are writing an essay, responding to a short answer question, or writing an original text - reference each of these dimensions of Discovery to ensure your response/composition demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the concept of DISCOVERY: CONTEXTS OBJECTS IMPACTS and NATURE. ("C.O.I.N.")

4. C) For each of the primary and secondary dimensions of Discovery (Contexts, Objects, Impacts and Nature) you will analyse your texts to identify examples of each. This will highlight the need to identify appropriately sophisticated texts of your own choosing which will provide sufficient material to reference most of the dimensions of Discovery.

5. Your journey of "DISCOVERY" Starts HERE:

6. This Mind Map provides the framework for over 20 hours of teaching that will ensure that even your least academic classes have the tools to structure their Discovery composition and responses. Simply put, texts can be analysed by identifying examples of each aspect of discovery as outlined in this taxonomy, arming students with more than 20 different perspectives on discovery to draw on as examples to illustrate any thesis. If you find this taxonomy a useful foundation for teaching Discovery, please "like" and share so that other teachers and students may benefit as soon as possible. Thanks. [email protected]

10. B) The focus is on HOW the concept of Discovery is represented, rather than WHAT the concept is about - how we can experience Discovery through a text, and how Discovery is represented in a text.

11. D) You will analyse techniques and evaluate the effectiveness of the choice of language forms, modes, structures and features to discuss the way composers shape their representations of Discovery. Equally, you will experiment with these techniques in your own compositions about Discovery.

12. E) Now, if you follow the links against each of the dimensions of Discovery below, you will begin to explore, analyse, question, articulate, examine, synthesise, assess, experiment and consider these dimensions of Discovery in ways that will prepare you to engage in the sort of Higher Order Thinking necessary to succeed in this Area of Study.
