1.1. Good festival weather, but a bit chilly

2. Our Program

2.1. 1500 - Torgeir Waldemar

2.2. 1645 - St. Paul & The Broken Bones

2.3. 1800 - Jackson Browne

2.4. 1930 - Calexico

2.5. 2115 - Bombino

2.6. 2200 - John Grant

3. Concerts

3.1. Torgeir Waldemar

3.1.1. Very Interesting & dedicated artist, still busy being born.

3.1.1.1. Beautiful Country/folk/appalachian music, great harmonies, strong lyrics - a GREAT start @ Bergenfest day 2

3.1.1.2. We will be following this artist's work.. there is surely great things to come

3.1.1.2.1. "Every move you make, we'll be watching you"

3.1.2. 5/6 - Egil & Hallgeir

3.2. St. Paul & The Broken Bones

3.2.1. Sweet Alabama soul music with punch that knocks any non-believers (in soul music) to the ground.

3.2.1.1. Thrilling, uplifting & just fuckin' great!

3.2.2. 5/6 - Egil

3.2.3. 6/6 - Hallgeir

3.3. Jackson Browne

3.3.1. An old hero with soo many great songs to pull from. Didn't play much of his classics, but his newer material is very good as well.

3.3.1.1. Rock solid performance, flirting with the audience about being partly Norwegian, elegantly balancing his politics and shining bright.

3.3.1.1.1. Browne's mother, Beatrice Amanda (née Dahl), was a Minnesota native of Norwegian ancestry

3.3.1.2. ..and btw his musicians were just brilliant!

3.3.2. 5/6 - Egil & Hallgeir

3.4. Calexico

3.4.1. I had high hopes, but was a bit let down. It started promissing but the middle slow down too much. I expected a party but what I got was a decent concert with a fine start and a nice end. All in all, as I said, a bit disappointed. (Hallgeir)

3.4.2. 3/6 - Hallgeir

3.5. Bombino

3.5.1. I LOVE the blues, but Bombino was just average.. or a bit below.

3.5.1.1. Coll band though, great atmosphere & enthuastic audience, just not my kind of blues/world music.

3.5.2. 2/6

3.6. John Grant

3.6.1. We LOVE John Grant here @ alldylan.com. Brilliant artist, heartbreaking & intense poems.

3.6.1.1. Fantastic concert (again, Bergenfest 2013 was also a killer), many songs from "Queen of Denmark" (yes!!), wonderful atmosphere & top notch band.

3.6.1.2. an artist that burns his message into your brain just by his words & presence (packaging is always good, but not essential). His synth stuff scares me a bit.. but then he starts singing.. say no more.

3.6.2. 6/6 - Egil & Hallgeir

4. Summary

4.1. Day 2 was our "busy" day.. a lot of great music to consume

4.1.1. Most expectations were met! Thrilling, uplifting & empowering, it was a GOOD day.
