Castle Idea King parts inspired by Mad King George III por Mind Map: Castle Idea King parts inspired by Mad King George III

1. [Fuck you so much reason for being] I suppose the king is really there just to try to find what the crazy things he sees are telling him. The king is basically King George the III and suffers from porphyria. Porphyrina is caused by a build up of porpyrins in the blood system and causes abdominal pain, skin rashes, and mental confusion. Not much is known about the king. Not much is known about the king's early life since those got burned in his first castle when a fire broke out in the pantry. King is largely remembered for the periods when he lost his mind. Often haunted by scary and volatile aborigines the king would often go into violent fits and lash out at what ever he could. Sometimes the fits became so violent that he had to put in a straight jacket and latched to a chair to prevent him from hurting others or himself. The king was often seen talking to a tree the resided in his courtyard,[DISREGARD he would often have very long drawn out and intricate conversations with the tree as if it were a person. One day after a lengthy conversation he ordered his guard with the most magical prowess to make the tree live so he could actually have it be "real" using a old arcane book that got lost to the ages the unicon wizard brought the tree to life but in return it cost him his own. The king didn't really care that the guy died since he didn't know who he was. Being extremely satisfied with his work he rested easy and for a point in time didn't have any fits. DISREGARD] Then one night he sat in his chair and died. Rumor has it that the king was poisoned but no one really knows for sure.

2. Gorgons http://imgur.com/YlXc8Vk

2.1. Lore: Some say they are a link from the pony evolutionary tree, others say they are a product of slightly altered convergent evolution, some even say they aren't real or that the person is a crackpot. No one really knows for sure but hey Gorgons are a thing most would never believe even if they see them. Creatures that have the front half of ponies but have the back half for snakes and may process a cutie mark on the middle half of there snake bottom half. [Needs work]

2.1.1. Physiology: Creatures that are half pony and half snake. Seen usually in swamps but who knows where else they could lurk. Gorgons have forked tongues like snakes and a venomous bite like a snake or monitor lizard. Being part snake the gorgons live off of a largely meat diet but being ponies they still can live off of plants if need be. Since they are omnivores they have teeth that quite like a humans save they have long and very sharp eye teeth so they can inject their prey full of venom ; either choosing a "run/slither down" or "lie in wait method" gorgons are very skilled at what they do. [FUCK IT THIS NEEDS HELP!]

2.1.1.1. My idea for these were to have these snake horses build a little settlement in the swamp and let them interact with the PCs and maybe being friends with them if they aren't stupid. They aren't to inclined to attack ponies but they would make a tasty meal so watch out for some. Can try to hypnotize the PCS with their alluring eyes.

3. Inside Outside

3.1. Chimera Snake, goat, tiger/lion

3.1.1. I'll get to this shit later

3.2. Animated skeletons

3.2.1. Just animal skeletons that got reanimated when the swamp unicorn guy was turning everything to shit. I guess they use the same magic like the other skeletons you guys have faced. Some are hostile and others aren't. Usually like to be left to their own devices but some are just dicks. Can be persuaded to help you if you play your cards right.

3.3. Hypno toad [i don't expect this one to go through]

3.3.1. Frogs that are basically the ones from futerama. They have large disk like eyes that swirl and bubble in a pattern that others find irresistible. They find it so alluring that people feel compelled to do its bidding. Really the sole reason why it hpnotysis things is just to eat them its biology just like that of a pixie frog.

4. Inside

4.1. Hydra

4.1.1. Bio: Giant swamp eel/snake with multiple heads [I think 7]. Leads a sedentary life style like a crocodile but is opportunistic and snaps up what ever it can get. Physiology: Hard scaled many headed reptile that is a giant but lies dormant or just uses the least amount of energy. Can live for many centuries this way and has been known to live well over 1000 years. Has gills and traditional lungs so it can breath in and out of water but the water still bubbles slightly with each breath. Can lie dormant for so long sediment builds on top and actual creatures can colonize it thinking that it's a natural part of the land. So much sediment can build on top that plants and trees can grow and successful lodge on it and in essence "be one with the hydra" [Hydra is there either through the king bringing in a egg for "protection" or while the castle was in disrepair it creeped in through a hole in the wall.

4.1.1.1. Each head has its own mind really only being tied together by a body and love for one another. [Gotta keep it related to the show some how] If one head is injured [with in all realty it shouldn't be because TPK] the others will stop what they are doing and assist there brother/sister. Like to use teamwork or can work alone. Have great memories like elephants. Can potentially destroy the castle losing everything inside if PCs are dumb and fuck up and still would probably be a TPK.

4.1.1.2. Found in a very wet and muddy room that could obscure the body of this beast. Room was made specifically like this or things got pushed around when the hydra moved in and made itself at home. Could be the kings pet.

4.2. "Magic" King tree

4.2.1. Back story: King [whatever Liven called him] had a exotic tree. When the king was born his parents planted a tree for him in his honor. The king watched over this tree his entire life pruning it and taking care of it all with his own two hooves. The king was attached to his tree and when he went out to stake his claim he brought the tree with him. Lugging around a tree all day is suck ass so the king enchanted it and gave the tree arms, legs, and emotion, and a consciousness so it could truly feel and be sentient; now the tree could walk on its own and support itself. The king giving part of his life force to the tree weakened him and made him but the king still kept on trucking. {Life energy part needs to be cleared up} Having been cared and loved for by the king it stuck by his side where ever he went, taking care of him and seeing that the king was well cared for as a silent watcher. Sure it scared the hell out of his court but they spoke nothing of it for fear of death. The tree being loyal to the king was deeply saddened when it saw its care taker and friend did in. It's still rumored to lurk the halls of the old castle silently watching over the place keeping a look out for the conspirators who killed his friend. Physiology: Still requires the basic needs for a tree but this ones roots are not anchored in the ground granting it movement and mobility. Can change spots so that its needs are met and rapidly absorbs what it needs and likes to return to the king to provide company. Can save built up energy but likes to replenish its supplies when it can. Can and will live for many many many more years like the trees the over over 2000 years old on Earth. Doesn't tend to lose leaves even in winter. Comes equipped with a pencil and few pieces of scrap paper with it keep surprisingly neat.

4.2.1.1. Life energy bit: The life energy of the tree and the king was more of a act of love and laziness, the king didn't want to haul a tree around and granted it "life" more or less the tree grew arms and legs and became sentient. Now for the life force bit. Life force energy as seen with Mary eventually kills the person [I guess unless they are adept at magic or something] but the king being a king simply used others to help heal and repair his 'life forces" when he was feeling shitty. Doing this didn't kill his subjects because hey let's not just kill people for fun. This energy was so potent in the tree because the king actually had one of his subjects put all of his life into the tree. The tree became independent and never had to use the kings life forces again and is its own man so to say [This needs to be elaborated on more]

4.2.1.1.1. I'll say that the king was great at magic because he got extensive training as a child because royalty. He got so strong that he could do amazing things with ease like bring a tree to life.

4.2.1.1.2. OOH A NEW IDEA: The king finally bringing the tree into his new swamp court set it down since it was a heavy ass tree. Then he got a idea; since he was a king and had to get extensive magic training as just a normal thing he was adapt at it. [It ties into Liven's thing here] So he ordered one of his servants to bring him a really old arcane magic book and enchanted the tree [sadly the book was lost to the ages and hard as fuck to read] after a bright flash the tree came to life but then something odd started to happen. The ground began to shake and wither as vines and other swamp things started to crawl up the sides of his castle. The king obviously enraged by this looked for a answer and found none. NOW A BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK: Since Liven did his thing it actually had a effect on the entire swamp in general. Since the king enchanted his tree it's magic pulse a started up the swamps magic and slowly but surely did the same to his castle but unicorn fireballs are a effective weed remover and skilled builders do a hell of a job fixing land and structure.

4.3. Typical swamp critters

5. Castle insides

5.1. Jewel/Throphy Room

5.1.1. A jewel room but it needs a key and is magic proof. Key is either very well hidden, on the tree in a branch, in the blacksmiths desk,or around the hydras many necks.

5.2. Libraby

5.2.1. Books books and guess what more books! It's a shame most are rotted of eaten by bugs ; and the ones that aren't probably can't be read.

5.3. King's Room

5.3.1. Typical king stuff but has a desk full of diaries.

5.4. Dining Hall

5.4.1. A very nice long table., seriously this is some nice shit. Just about the only thing that's lasted throughout the ages.

5.5. Armory

5.5.1. Weapons fit for a king.To bad the king is dead and his weapons are shit now. Maybe if your lucky you could find something worthwhile

5.6. Small Indoor Garden

5.6.1. Wow such dead plants, very clap. Not many things are alive and the ones that are are very weak unless they are magic~

5.6.1.1. Magic ones Let's have Rain help

5.7. Pool Room

5.7.1. A indoor pool that is massive. The king liked to party hard and the best way to party hard is with lots of coke and a giant ass pool. The king loved to party and had his builder build him a colossal pool; seriously this thing was just too big but who would argue with the king? After constructing the giant thing with just a simple screen and many pool cleaners the giant orgy/pool was built. After the king died and the conspirators left the pool fell into disrepair and quickly became a indoor swamp.

5.7.1.1. Would have all of your typical swamp critters in there with hypno toads and the hydra which went dormant long ago to let its food supply rebuild.

5.7.2. A indoor pool that is massive. The king liked to party hard and the best way to party hard is with coke and a giant ass pool

5.8. Statue Room

5.8.1. It's a room full of statues of the king; what the fuck did you expect? In all reality wouls just be a room full of statues of various things many of them being the king. On of the heads will have a switch and if the player flips it a near by golem will come one line and will attack, either that one the button is moot doing nothing because age.

5.8.1.1. Could add onto

6. Court yard

6.1. A small market [Niggas gotta eat]

6.1.1. Nothing to special a small bazaar filled with various carts and old stalls. Nothing to interesting but if they are lucky they can find something.

6.1.1.1. If they are lucky and find something. I'm thinking a

6.2. Blacksmith

6.2.1. A king needs armor and weapons not only to look good and to impress the wenches, he needs one for protection. The swamps are a dangerous place so you need protection or else you may not be seen again. That's why the blacksmith was paid a pretty penny to build the towns weapons, armor, and other trivial things. Just like our town!

6.2.1.1. The party would probably find some small terribly rusted weapons or armor that wouldn't fit that would break when they are used or possible hurt them if I feel like it. If they are extremely lucky [like they roll a 19 or 20] they "could" [if I'm feeling nice] find a small key, to what they will have to figure out.

6.3. Park

6.3.1. Just a nice little park but it's more like a mini jungle since no ground keepers are around. Maybe they could find something nice or maybe a animal that will try to bite there faces off. Oh the choices the choices~.

6.4. Zoo

6.4.1. What type of king wouldn't have a zoo in there court. The king being a man of high statue, power, and wealth ordered many exotic animals so that he may gawk and throw peanuts at them. Since the king is dead and no one's around the animals that were trapped in cages are now spooky scary skeletons. Some cages are open and no skeleton can be found. What happened to these lost animals? Are they still lurking in the castle or are they out and about running around the swamp? That's for me to know and you to find out.

7. Area before castle

7.1. Murky nasty swamp

7.2. Maybe a small Gorgon settlement

7.3. The fire water geysers like in the show

8. Special Creatures http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Fruit_bats#Fruit_bat

8.1. Outside

8.1.1. Giant bugs and lizards

8.1.1.1. Bugs and lizards that have avoided the hungry mouths of predators for so many years get bigger with each molt, eventually getting big enough to pose a actual threat to ponies and predators. Usually chill unless hungry and pissed.

8.1.2. Rock 'o' diles / Cragadile

8.1.2.1. Alligators made from stone or that have stone hard skin and look like rocks or mud

9. Traps/mental illness thread

9.1. Golems

9.1.1. The king has a series of statues scattered through out his entire castle and when they sense a intruder/looter is near by they activate and crush them. The king doesn't have many variation between the statues but they span all the playable races. Pegasus owns are fast, unicorns have magic obviously, Earth pones are strong and have a little more health, zebras are more agile, and bat ponies are quieter or some shit. when a crit is dealt to any single golemn all of the ones in the near by vicinity get harmed but the effects wear off if the party leaves the castle.

9.2. Trap doors/pressure plate

9.2.1. Shit don't know how you make a pressure plate; but the king did. Him being the paranoid fuck he is was worried about people snooping around his palace so every now and then he would add a trap door or pressure plate to catch any bandits. The traps were pretty successful in the long run but sometimes they forgot to get cleaned.

10. The king and land back-story [Fuck!]

10.1. The king does write his regrets about killing the knights after finding out they were protecting him. When he found out he took the ponies under his wing from a distance [Except Bronze Platter he's a bitch nigga] never knowing they plotted against him. He helps take care of Steel the most and actually opens up and shares his feelings of sorrow and sadness with him hoping he can forgive him and knows he's one of the ones who wont abuse it.

11. A idea for the king and why the castle could be there. The king was a very strange and eccentric man who was a painter at heart and found calming solace in his art. The king settled the swamps not because it was a battle position or because it provided safety, the real reason was to get new and fresh inspiration to paint. The castle was built by his courts which he treated very well and provided for his people. [Skip over some fluff] After years of art the king started to lose his marbles. At first it was over small things like hearing a distant voice or feeling someone touch him when no one was there. As time progressed his condition started to get worse and worse he would start to see odd things as if they were poorly draw paintings like http://imgur.com/X8QwO1L he would quickly blink them away and they would stay away for awhile but eventually come back. This persisted for a long time the king painting each scene that he could inside of his journal. These hallucinations grew even more abstract as time progressed to the point where his world looked like minimalist art blur http://imgur.com/XIjaiR8 The king was seeing a doctor during this entire ordeal who told him to take [pills] in order to help combat this delirium. The [pills] actually worked for a while and the king returned to normal and began to really enjoy his life again. Then one day his affliction came back even harder; the king's visions started to talk a odder more grim tone as they grew in detail http://imgur.com/3Xo4Abz The king was scared just not understanding his now changing world. The king later dies of a heart attack due to just being scared out of his wits and medical conditions but i'll add more fluff to make the story better soon.

11.1. REASONS WHY THE KING WENT MAD The reason the king went mad is because of a plant that grew in his room that he planted because of its elegance and scent the other reason why he died was that he was poisoned by his courts and may have had a rare blood disorder due in inbreeding [he was British :3]

11.1.1. THE PLANT picture white trumpet plant flowers mixed with a orange bleeding heart flower. This plant has a catch though it acts like a pitcher plant; it expels a sweet smells that draw near by insects and possibly larger pray if it's big enough into its pedals. The rim on the inner part of the plant is slippery and has backwards facing hairs so when something is in it's trapped unless freed. HOW THIS KILLED THE KING: The sweet scent the plant produces is alluring and naturally draws ponies and other critters near it; since ponies are too large it poses no physical threat but after months/years or inhalation it starts to weaken neural bonds [or whatever] and makes the person go crazy. Like dementia/schizophrenic crazy. Effects are permenat but you should be fine around it for a long time.

11.1.2. THE CONSPIRATORS Since the king was a king he naturally had people who wanted to kill him to take his thrown. This conspiracy group used to be called [Bonfire] this group consisted of Silver Hooves, Gold tooth, Bronze platter, Iron Stride, and Steel Dust. This group of people hated the king with a passion; the reason being that there fathers used to be knights in his royal guard and after a squabble with some nobles got executed. Unknown to the king the knights were protecting him; they found out that the nobles were planning on assassinating him and prevented it. The king thought they were just fucking shit up and killed the nobles for bad reasons, So he killed them you know rope to the neck. The group were in the square when their fathers were publicly executed and from that day swore to get even with the king. Everyday the group would slip in tiny amounts of arsenic into his nightly brew. Over time the build up of drugs and trumpet/bleeding heart plants effected the kings brain making him crazy

11.1.2.1. Silver Hooves: A earth pony with a very light grey coat and a punch as hard as a rock. This was not a pony that you wanted to mess with , having been more of a fighter then a lover Silver opted to have fights then have friends. The friends he did make weren't the best crowd to hang around, after a small misunderstanding and a near murder Silver met the others in the group and plotted against the king with them playing as the groups tank and fighter.

11.1.2.2. Gold Tooth: The yellow coated unicorn with a moth full of bling could talk her way out and into any situation. This mare was the soothsayer on the team getting the inside scoop on anything and everything. Always having her ear to the ground she knew most of the things people would only talk about in private and would bring it up when ever she thought it would benefit her or just plain embarrass the victim. Gold Tooth is the "leader", information gather, and coordinater of these horsies

11.1.2.3. Bronze Platter: This brown colored sky rat was a servant to the king and hated every second of it. He was the whipping boy of the group and the one the king showed personal contempt for. Be it hitting him with a stick or doing demeaning acts. The abuse coupled with the fact that he's Just naturally spiteful person he hated and exaggerated in his own mind everything the king did. After sneaking out and seeing his father killed he swore revenge on the king for all of the misdealing that have happened to him. He's the inside guy of the group and loves to play dress up.

11.1.2.4. Steel Stride : This dark near black mare earth pony is one that likes to hide in the shadows and play tricks. Having raised himself on stealing and lies Steel grew to be a pretty successful conman. Steel starting with petty crime eventually began to spread his reach to more powerful and richer ponies. After a bad heist from one of the royals he landed himself in jail where he met Silver. After a night of talking and surprisingly no loss of teeth they soon became friends and later met the others in the group through shady means. Steel plays as the thief and trickster of the group.

11.1.2.5. Steel Dust: This grey freckled pigeon is not to bright in the slightest. What Steel wanted to do all day was just laze about and fly from cloud to cloud and just watch. Steel never did well in school more or less coasting on cheating and his fathers military rank but don't take Steel for a fool he may be dumb but he has a excellent memory he doesn't tap into very often or at all really. Besides having a good memory but no applicable skills Steel acts more as the messenger, eyes, and scout for the party.

11.1.2.5.1. TO SPICE IT UP: The king was kinda close to Steel and actually shared some of his regrets about killing there father since he late found out that the knights prevented him from being assassinated. Steel was a bit to dim to understand but he writes about it in his kournals

11.1.3. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CONSPIRATORS AFTER THE OVERTHROW So what I think would be a good idea is that the conspirators all looted one of the kings 2 jewel rooms and gave up when they couldn't find the secret access point and key for the other. With new found wealth and people to back them they each branched off and helped settle new castles and other buildings around the land. See I made a beginning of a arc :D
