1. I am a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a wife - as you see, I am totally outnumbered by males in this family!
2. My first work in the USA was at Sinai Hospital... and I spent the next 16 years there - working my way from the medical records clerk to Clinical Research Program Coordinator. Moving between different roles in the hospital allowed me to learn the inner workings of the facility and obtain needed knowledge.
3. FAMILY
4. I was born in then Soviet Azerbaijan - land of oil and fire. My father is a geologist so I grew up all over the world - Algeria and Vietnam, Iceland and Egypt; you name any country that has oil, gas, or thermal waters, and I'd probably been there at some point. Sounds amazing but embassy schools are no fun - 7 students per class?
5. We ended up in London and I went to high school in England and read English and History at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

8. After graduation, we returned to my home town, Baku, and I continued my studies at the University, eventually earning Master's in Environmental Science and Public Health.
9. Due to the civil unrest, my family emigrated to the USA in 1992 and I lived in Baltimore ever since.
10. I serve as a Vice President of Clinical Services and Compliance for our organization. Federal and State regulations and good clinical practices are familiar territory, but I am lacking knowledge of the corporate governance and business law. Looking forward to learning!
11. I never thought that I am built for business but decided to take a shot and started a personal care agency with friends. Since 1999, we worked on expanding the company and services and now it is a multistate enterprise serving Maryland, North and South Carolinas, and New Jersey. We provide community based services - everything that could be done beyond the hospital, such as home health, nursing, therapy, personal care, emergency response systems, primary care, etc.
