3.1.1. Worksheet of information that should have been learned the year before. Also includes material that will be taught. (informal)

3.1.2. Fill out a times table

3.2. Formative Assessment

3.2.1. Red/green cards that students can hold up if they do or don’t understand material throughout different lessons (informal)

3.2.2. Quizzes (formal)

3.2.3. Math groups to work on assignments and help each other (informal)

3.3. Summative Assessment

3.3.1. Math tests

3.3.2. Baking activity

4. Learning Plan

4.1. Lesson 1: Fractions – review equivalent & addition and subtraction. Introduce multiplication and division. White boards for each student to hold up answers asked.

4.2. Lesson 2: Decimals – review how they relate to fractions. Multiplication and division. Word problems with fractions and decimals as a class

4.3. Close the unit with a test and review questions missed by most of the class

5. Standard

5.1. NF5.B – Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to multiply and divide fractions

5.2. 5.NF.4. Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication (refer to 2.OA.3, 2.OA.4, 3.OA.1, 3.NF.1, 3.NF.2, 4.NF.4) to multiply a fraction or whole number by a fraction.

6. Critical Content & Skills

6.1. Fractions and decimals help to problem solve equations and real life situations.

6.2. Using fractions in equations with various numerators and denominators and as mixed numbers.

6.3. Relating decimals to money in various world problems and equations

7. Concepts

7.1. fractions

7.2. decimals

8. Differentiation

8.1. Differentiation by content based on academic understanding. For students that are learning more quickly, they will be able to do activities on their own to learn at a faster pace. They will have worksheets and iPad activities during the normal lesson to work on in a small group.

8.2. Special Needs will have slightly modified assignments

8.3. ELL will study what they understand and work with a specials teacher
