Main points:

The simpler the better. There is a single mainline branch master, and no development. Such separation to master and dev branches is appropriate for the large teams, but overkill for our project.
We still need a separate release branches because there might be a possible demand to apply a hotfix to a one of previous releases. In such a case a single continuous release branch might get cluttered.
Branch naming conventions is a must for branch protection by mask and auto processing.
