1. Things we require for survival: food, water, clothing, shelter, and sleep
2. In employment context needs are satisfyed through adequete wages
3. Physiological Needs
4. Safety Needs
5. Things that require physical and emotional security
6. Satisfied through job security, health insurance, pension plans, and safe working conditions
7. Example: reducing health care insurance is a threat to employees' need for safety
8. Social Needs
9. The human requirements for love, affection, and a sense of belonging
10. Satisfied through relationships in the work environment and informal organizations
11. Relationships between employees affect the success of the company
12. Esteem Needs
13. Our need for respect, recognition, and a sense of out accomplishment and worth (Self-Esteem)
14. Satisfied through personal accomplishment, promotion to more responsible jobs, and various honors and rewards
15. Self-Actualization needs
16. The need to grow and develop and to become all we are capable of being
17. Satisifaction varies with the individual. Due to this, it is the hardest to achieve. A sense of self accomplishment
18. Example: like feeling that they are the best out there, learning new skills, starting a new career after retirement
