Arts Audit by Mind Map: Arts Audit

1. Media Arts

1.1. Love being creative with technology, probably my strongest area of the arts currently! Through school creating many newspaper articles and blog posts. I love graphic design and being able to use PhotoShop. I have also created many many videos over the years!

1.2. Childhood memories that stickby me is creating powepoints... all the time! Adding graphics, music, effects, it used to be my favourite past time.

1.3. It's meaningful to me because I guess I can express who I am, and be as creative as I want! I love using technology to show my creative side, I could play around on photoshop for hours trying to get the perfect piece of work!

2. Music

2.1. Music isn't my strong creative point, I once hasan interest for playing music but that faded as I grew up. Love listening to music and appreciating the meaning behind lyrics and the rhythm, meaning etc.!

2.2. Used to play piano when I was younger (5-8 years old maybe) but then became interested in sport more!

3. Visual Arts

3.1. Not my strong suit - especially drawing! Love hands on things, like painting and pottery! Those were my favourite tasks to do in visual arts!

3.2. As a child, my memory of visual arts is sitting down in Church and Sunday School every Sunday doodling away! Loved to colour in all my drawings too!

4. Arts Opportunities

4.1. currently unaware of any institutions or organisations that provide opportunities in SA.

4.1.1. This is mainly because I never felt like an Artsy child!

5. Drama

5.1. Enjoyed immensely through school, played lead role in Year 9 Drama Play. Was a subject where I could unwind, relax and feel like myself!

5.2. Like dance, I used to put on a few drama shows when I was younger! Super embarrassing to look back on now! Sure it provided plentiful entertainment for my parents!

6. Dance

6.1. Not much dance experience! Recall a lot of dance through my childhood at home, putting on home entertainment shows for family and family friends!

6.2. Never got into dance that much, I felt like I didn't belong that well and didn't feel I was good enough!

7. Expressing who I am

7.1. Arts, especially drama and visual arts, through my schooling and younger experiences, has made me able to realise that I can express who I am, and feel comfortable doing it. There are so many ways and means to express yourself and show the world who you really are! For me that has been pretending I'm someone else; putting on a show for people, or putting my creative cap on whizzing through PhotoShop. Growing up I thought being good at Arts was being able to draw, something which wasn't my strong suit, but realising now, I had my own strengths, and my own ways and means of expressing who I was!
