Alison responds--Based on 2/15 discussion, we do want a search box on all pages for the catalog and for downloads...we decided to use the Classic interface and not provide a link to the Encore interface which is very confusing and part of a long-term switch to combine public and academic library catalogs throughout the state

the main CPL catalog search box searches both regular OPAC and eZone downloads by default, so we do not need a separate search box for catalog and the major downloads available through eZone...we use the same one..

.since a Search box is on each page, we do not need a Catalog Search under the Main Nav...

however, because of Samantha's use and CPL staff requests, we do want a clear DOWNLOADS link to the main eZone page somewhere on every page...

and we will have to work Freegal in somehow, since these music downloads are separate from the main Search

Linda adds - At this point you just need to use something like Library Search or Search the Library. Be careful about a phrase like Find Library Material formal and perhaps not suited to your target audience?

Jessica--I am not sure how to best present our search options. (same note appears in Main Nav "In the Library" item)

Alison asks--Catalog search on the current website returns all material in all R.I. Libraries AND all digital material available via eZONE. Some common searches return a massive list.

Will there be a way to configure at least one search box in the website so it searches ONLY material available at Cumberland?

I can see that the combined libraries/combined eZone search might work for the main search box that appears on all pages--since the job of that box is quick access to as much as possible. But in the Main Nav, don't we want to help a user like Samantha make a finer-grained distinction?

If all she wants to do is swing by and pick up a romance novel for her mother-in-law, she doesn't want a 20-item list that includes libraries on the other side of the state. She wants a search that will return ONLY items available at Cumberland.

When I tried that search, I had to go into Advanced search, apply a location filter, even then the filter didn't work--so then I had to use the facets on the left hand side to limit again--that was too much work.
