1. Language/Literacy- The students will have a chart with ocean animals on it and popsicle sticks with letters on them. They will say the beginning sounds of each picture and match which letter corresponds with the picture.
2. Mathematics- They will sort shells out. There will be a pile of seashells and solo cups with different numbers on them. They will put how many shells are supposed to go in each cup.
3. Science- We will make an ocean in a Gatorade bottle. We will put water, blue food coloring, and vegetable oil in the bottle and shake gently. We will hot glue the bottle tops so nothing spills.
4. Creative Arts- We will make hanging jellyfish crafts with plastic bowls, tissue paper squares, white glue, coffee filters, and liquid watercolors.
5. Gross Motor- We will play a game called Island Hopping. We can use sit spots and jump from one spot to another and try not to hop on the floor where a sit spot is not placed.
6. Self-Regulation- We will play a game pretending we are fish swimming (running and making our arms do swim motions) around and when I say there is a shark, we swim faster. When I say there is no shark, we will swim at a regular pace.
7. Cooperation/Collaboration- The students will go on a treasure hunt to find a certain amount of ocean themed animals.
8. Fine Motor- The students will have a picture of a shark and will use tweezers to pick up pom poms to place on the picture to “feed the shark”.
9. Social Studies- We will learn about the ocean zones. We will have a coloring sheet that has the sunlight zone, twilight zone and midnight zone with which animals are in each.
