1. Role of the Students
1.1. value and respect each others' ideas and contributions
1.2. keep an open mind and practice a growth mindset mentality

1.6. demonstrate a willingness to share and contribute
1.7. take ownership over their learning

2. Role of School Staff
2.1. Support the classroom teacher and offer feedback when appropriate
2.2. create a welcoming school environment
2.3. Support students as needed
2.4. Interact with students and form relationships with them
3. Physical Layout
3.1. desks arranged to promote collaboration and open communication
3.2. visual supports (charts, posters, etc.) on walls
3.3. organized and clutter-free space
3.4. lighting options (lamps, portable lights, etc.)
4. Role of the Teacher
4.1. model respectful behaviour (e.g. listening attentively to all students)
4.2. believe that all students can succeed under the right circumstances
4.3. strive to remove bias from lessons
4.4. provide all students with what they need in order to be successful (equity)
4.5. offer options for demonstrating learning outcomes
4.6. execute various types of lessons to keep students engaged and excited about learning
4.7. maintain high expectations for student achievement
4.8. accept all appropriate student responses and contributions, demonstrate that every opinion or belief is valued
4.9. consistently provide relevant feedback
4.10. elaborate on student responses, helping them articulate their thinking
4.11. ensure students' emotional needs are met while at school
