Physical- This stage in life encompasses more physical, I believe. Your body is going from physically fit and at its peak to new changes and obstacles to deal with. Osteoporosis is harming the bones. Senses such as vision and hearing may be diminishing slightly. And you may even notice you are slightly slower to react then before with stimulus. Menopause may occur around age 45 for women and male climacteric starts to occur later around 50 years old for men. Health is more of a thought on their minds. Cancer may be in their near future or may start to show around this time.

Cognitive- According to Schaie, inductive reasoning, spatial orientation, perceptual speed and verbal memory begin to decrease after we hit 25 years of age. Numeric and verbal are different though they both increase with age until around 40 years. Memory is a question asked at this age as well but research shows there is no loss of memory around this age it is mostly a social clique that people turn to. It may be the persons own fault or strategy of memory that made them forget a certain thing.

Social- midlife crisis is a statement many people around this age may hear. I believe it is a stage in life where your children may be grown, you are career and financially established and you are able to do or buy the things you were not able to get in your 20s. Along with that it is also a time of change in family and personal life. Divorce is rising with couples around this age or possible remarriage is happening around this time. Children may be moving out so feelings of empty nest are occurring or you may be becoming a grandparent for the first time and that too is a huge change in family life.
