It has been my pleasure to have known Bunny for over 30 years and yet we have never met. \n

We became acquainted through\nour work, having similar roles at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) – Bunny in Massachusetts and I was located in Sydney. We communicated initially via the\ncompany’s ‘e-net’. There was an immediate connection on a personal level. We got each other’s humour. One of the first things Bunny told me about herself was that she was from Maine. “I’m a Maineac Lynne”. \n

Letters and Christmas Cards\nwere exchanged for a while but Bunny didn’t really like the physical act of writing – she felt her writing was too difficult to read; she said the result\nof years of scribbling notes at lectures. I was and remain the opposite, writing was my greatest enjoyment since early Primary School and I then studied to be a Stenographer. In any case, we agreed to communicate electronically and\nit was the most practical decision with us both leading busy lives. To this day\nI can visualise Bunny’s signature on project documents that came through to me.\n

Bunny was well travelled and\ninterested in just about everything. I was fascinated to hear about her and Bob’s holidays. \n

We had many common interests\nand shared stories about our families, our thoughts and opinions on special cooking for Thanksgiving / Christmas, books, nature and the environment, travel and politics. Fair bit of discussion on recent politics. \n

DEC days were often mentioned\nand not so long ago Bunny was excited to tell me that a former colleague from Boston, who I did remember, had moved to Florida and was living close to her. \n

When I told my son that Bunny\nhad died he was a little shocked like me and he recalled me speaking of Bunny from when he was very young. \n

Bunny was optimistic and full\nof life. She was a valued and trusted friend and I am grateful to have known her. \n

I know how much she loved her\nfamily, she did speak of her sisters and she spoke so fondly of her son Brian, Debbie, Erin, Hanna and Jamie. I send my love to them all. \n
