1. Project Goals
1.1. differentiate LifeStriders based on grounding in science
1.2. drive awareness of services beyond riding
1.3. emphasize integration/holistic approach
1.4. highlight personal/custom path
1.5. ensure diverse populations are represented
2. Idea
2.1. Everyone’s experience is different. There are a few constants but how they come together looks different for every member of our LifeStriders community.
3. General Notes
3.1. VISUALS: Perhaps it could be a combination of more traditional b-roll and go pro or a selfie stick style – as in just a conversation with the camera? Mostly new footage.
3.2. VOICE OVER: Could be a combination of narrator, individuals telling their stories, staff interjecting with the science.
4. Narrative Outline
4.1. VO is offscreen narrator, message is people come to LifeStriders with different needs and different goals, we meet you where you are and blaze a trail together. We have a few constants: our horses; our grounding in scientific research and evidence-based therapies; our integrated approach, and our welcoming community. LifeStriders as a verb instead of a Noun - Substitute for "Trailblazers"
4.1.1. Opening
4.1.1.1. 3-4 people walking up drive, each takes a different path: door to arena – physical disabled individual with caretaker?; door to counseling offices – veteran with mental health issues?; around to pastures – African American youth leader/volunteer?
4.1.1.1.1. candidates
4.1.2. Trailblazer Stories
4.1.2.1. Cut to staff greeting disabled individual and caretaker coming into the arena.
4.1.2.1.1. Close-up of client and caretaker. VO is one or both introducing themselves.
4.1.2.1.2. Cut to b-roll of client loading onto horse and beginning the lesson. VO is caretaker or client explaining the issues/goals client is working with and toward.
4.1.2.1.3. Cut to staff explaining science/biomechanics of hippotherapy perhaps generally and in this instance specifically. Similar information as in The Bridge but focused on individual story as well. Perhaps it’s through the lens of giving direction for an exercise and explaining to client why we do it and how it helps.
4.1.2.1.4. Perhaps we cut back to caretaker watching the lesson while he/she talks about participating in caretaker counseling or support group – other practice areas that are part of their path.
4.1.2.1.5. End story with horse and rider leaving frame while next individual walks into frame. VO is narrator emphasizing integration of constants.
4.1.2.1.6. Candidates
4.1.2.2. Close-up of veteran introducing him or herself.
4.1.2.2.1. Cut to interaction with staff, while VO Is veteran or staff explaining issues and goals client arrived with is working on.
4.1.2.2.2. Cut to veteran b-roll while staff explains the traditional and equine therapies used here and why (science and integration).
4.1.2.2.3. Transition in a similar way to 3rd individual.
4.1.2.2.4. Tiffany and/or Bill
4.1.2.3. Close-up of youth leader volunteer introducing herself and her story. B-roll of the work she does while VO is of staff giving background on leadership program and benefits.
4.1.3. Close video with all three walking out large barn door together into the activity of the farm. VO closes with a reminder of the constants that work together no matter the path.
