1. Clean up without turning off the tap
1.1. North Carolina State University (USA) calculates that we could save more than 1,400 liters of water per month per person just by turning off the tap when washing our hands and teeth.
2. Throw batteries in the trash
2.1. A battery takes between 500 and 1,000 years to degrade and contaminates 3,000 liters of water, harming the marine biosphere. In addition to containing mercury, one of the most toxic metals.
3. Throw disposable towels in the toilet
3.1. These products do not break down like toilet paper and cause the vast majority of blockages in sewage treatment plants and sewers.
4. Light a wood stove in the street
4.1. One of the main damages is this, because lighting up smoke in the street not only affects the environment but also people's health.
5. Throw cigarette butts on the ground
5.1. Cigarette butts contain chemical substances such as lead, which contaminates the liters of water with which it comes into contact.
6. conventional means of transportation
6.1. One of the causes of global warming is linked to the emission of greenhouse gases. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main ones.
7. Release a helium balloon into the air
7.1. It is dangerous, to a greater extent, for birds, fish and other marine animals that can suffocate if they eat it by mistake.
8. Eating foods with palm oil
8.1. The huge intensive plantations dedicated to obtaining this ingredient contribute to the deforestation of tropical forests.
9. Using plastic bottles
9.1. Those plastic bottles that seem insignificant, are made from petroleum and take hundreds of years to degrade, affecting the environment.
10. Throw any rubbish on the floor
10.1. implies a degradation of the health of living beings. It must be taken into account that garbage releases toxic substances into the environment that spread through the soil, as well as through the water and the air.
