College Visit Checklist
BEFORE YOU GO - Check items that apply:

Review website/prospective student
Consider and discuss the budget you have for this college visit
Arrange overnight accommodations
Register for a campus tour through Admissions
Schedule an official admissions interview
Identify classes to visit while on campus
Schedule a meeting with the academic support center
Schedule a meeting with a coach, the Honors Program, or a professor
Check school calendar for athletic events or performances to attend while visiting
Review virtual campus tour on website
Print out the campus map
Print College Visit Checklist Map (see our template)
Pack snacks, clothes, comfortable shoes, entertainment, money, paperwork
Print out a map and driving directions to Admissions Office

WHILE ON-CAMPUS

Check-in with Admissions Office - Show interest
Take Guide campus tour if available
Check out the campus bookstore and the library
Grab a snack or eat a meal in a campus dining facility
Take a few photos so you can remember your visit
Talk with students about life on campus; find out why they chose this school
Pick up a school newspaper, course catalog, brochure
Read the bulletin boards throughout campus
Visit athletic facilities for all students
Write down names and titles of college personnel you meet

AFTER THE VISIT

Tour area around campus
Write down your impressions
Send thank you emails to professors and staff that you met
