Input vs. Output por Mind Map: Input vs. Output

1. Gives commands

2. Keyboards

2.1. Keyboards are used to give commands as well as create documents. For example, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. This device benefits the user by allowing a task to be completed with ease. A challenge with using keyboards can be that over time the keys may stick or certain letters just don't work anymore.

3. Mouse

3.1. The mouse is a peripheral device that allows the user navigate the computer and programs while making commands. Using a mouse allows for quick access to programs or files. Another benefit is that the user is able to switch the setting to accommodate a left handed person. A challenge that goes along with using a mouse is that it could become slow over time and delay your work process.

4. Input

4.1. A device used to enter data into the computer.

6. Output

6.1. "...pieces of hardware that move information out of the computer." (Lever-Duffy, (2011) p. 119)

6.2. Information is moved in soft copy (electronically) or in hard copy (printed form)

7. Monitors

7.1. Screen displays the information

8. Printer

8.1. Different types of printers allow for different types of tasks to be completed. Printers can benefit a learner by turning their ideas into immediate products to be used to continue learning or show their learning to others. Some challenges become when ink levels become low, paper jams, or computers don't recognize the printer. This can be very frustrating when the learner needs that immediate product.
