GETTING SALT AND WATER THROUGH SCIENTIFIC METHODS

1. METHODS: Filtration and Distillation

2. Apparatus: FILTRATION: -Beaker -Filter Funnel -Filter Paper SIMPLE DISTILLATION: -Distillation Flask -Boiling Chips -Thermometer -Condenser -Conical flask -Gobstoppers -Bunsen Burner -Tripod stand

3. FILTERATION (Part 1)

3.1. Step 1: Place the filter funnel on the beaker

3.2. Step 2: Place the filter paper into the filter funnel carefully

3.3. Step 3: Pour the mixture into the filter funnel and wait for the liquid to be collected in the beaker and the solids in the filter paper

4. Step 3: Distilled water is collected in the conical flask. Concentrated salt is left in the flask.

5. Step 2: Light up the bunsen burner. Wait for the water to finish evaporating.

6. Step 1: After obtaining the salt solution, set up the apparatus as shown as the diagram above
