1.1. By providing students the opportunity to create an online portfolio or blog through weebly, it shows that the teacher is promoting digital citizenship. This tool would definitely inspire student learning and promote creativity as each student would have the opportunity to create his/her own unique site. The online portfolio could be used as a great learning experience for students and the portfolio itself could be used as an assessment.

2. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE Standards)

2.1. Technology Standards for Students: 1. Creativity & Innovation 2. Communication & Collaboration 3. Research & Information Fluency 4. Critical thinking, Problem Solving, & Decision Making 5. Digital Citizenship 6. Technology Operations & Concepts

2.1.1. Students who used weebly would be demonstrating creative thinking as well as constructing knowledge. It would also allow students to do all of the following: communicate and collaborate, problem solve, make decisions, process data and report results, and understand and use technology systems. This tool would also promote digital citizenship within students and show them how to practice safe, legal and responsible use of information and technology.

2.2. Technology Standards for Teachers: 1. Facilitate & Inspire Student Learning & Creativity 2. Design & Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences & Assessments 3. Model Digital Age Work & Learning 4. Promote & Model Digital Citizenship & Responsibility 5. Engage in Professional Growth & Leadership

This tool would definitely inspire student learning and promote creativity as each student would have the opportunity to create his/her own unique site. The online portfolio could be used as a great learning experience for students and the portfolio itself could be used as an assessment.

2.2.1.1. I definitely agree with this! An online portfolio would be a great start for a student to be able to showcase their work and achievements to use for college or future endeavors. VM

3. Weebly (technology) can enhance teaching and learning in a variety of ways: 1. Motivates students in their learning due to their enjoyment and ease of use with various technological mediums. 2. Reaches students of various learning styles. Technology use applies to and compliments Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. 3. Allows students to create and design their own unique products reflective of their personalities and learning needs/styles (portfolio). 4. Encourages students to manipulate media to construct their own meaning. 5. Enables students to easy share their learning with teachers, families and peers. 6. Gives students the chance to explore technological mediums which in inevitable increase job skills that employers look for in the workforce.

3.1. I like how students can be creative. It also lets them connect to the classroom as well as explore their own technological advances. Students are so tech savvy these days that they can manipulate and create things so much easier it seems. AYoungfleish

3.2. I like how you mention the use of multiple intelligences. I think that this is very important to consider when planning for a lesson because not all students retain information the same way. VM

4. Weebly can be used collaboratively amongst teachers and students. Weebly is not only just a site that allows you to create and design a website, but it can also be used a blogging source. Therefore, teachers and students can share information and provide feedback/comments regarding their blogs. If students have a blog, they can share or link to other social media sites which would reach thousands globally. This tool could also be a way to connect with parents as well.

4.1. Interesting to know that it is not just for websites. AYoungfleish

5. Weebly was founded by three Penn State students: David Rusenko, Dan Veltri, and Chris Fanini. This tool can be found at www.weebly.com. • Weebly is a consumer service that gives people a surprisingly easy and affordable way to create a site that is as unique as they are. • Weebly lets entrepreneurs start something and showcase their work. • It has four different plans to choose from: Free ($0/month, Starter ($4/month), Pro ($8/month), and Business ($25/month). • With a Weebly site, people can communicate with their clients, promote their works to potential buyers, share their story with like-minded people, and be an authority on personal and professional interests.

5.1. I like the different features to pay or not to create the site. The more you want to promote yourself the more you have to put into it. It was easy to set-up. AYoungfleish
