1. By nature, all men have the desire to know

1.1. ex. the desire we take in our senses

1.2. nature does nothing by chance

1.2.1. to engage the problem of knowledge, we must begin senses to use them to understand the world

2. Aristotle is a scientific and practical thinker

2.1. He does not believe in the world of forms, but thinks that everything that we can understand are the things we can touch

2.2. does not believe in the world of forms, but thinks that everything that we can understand are the things we can touch

2.2.1. the forms lie inside the things themselves

3. Aristotle believed that everything in this world has causes

3.1. Material Cause- the material from which the thing is made

3.2. formal cause- the shape or form a thing must take in order to be recognized

3.3. Efficient Cause- the actual force used to make thing

3.4. Final Cause- what is the ultimate purpose of the thing
